GEG and Social Organizations Collaborate to Promote Responsible Gaming

November 22, 2017 – Committed to demonstrating a keen sense of social responsibility, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) works closely with different social service associations in Macau to promote responsible gaming and family harmony. Recently, GEG respectively organized a group of team members to visit the Macao Catholic Family Advisory Council and made a donation of MOP60,000 to the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home in order to increase team members’ awareness of the link between family harmony and responsible gaming and support the organizations’ work.
Ms. Yedda Ieong, Assistant Centre-in-Charge for the Macao Catholic Family Advisory Council, welcomed the 21 GEG team members and explained to them the association’s family education and counselling services for addressing gambling disorder. The GEG team members then played games to learn the “Language of Love” for expressing positive and negative emotions in a better way to relieve work pressure and strengthen family relationships.
GEG also endeavors to support local social service organizations to promote responsible gaming. Recently, on behalf of GEG, Ms. Cecilia Wong, Assistant Vice President of Program Management, and Ms. Carla Coteriano, Senior Manager of Responsible Gaming, Public Relations, GEG, presented a cheque for MOP60,000 to the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home. The donation was received by Mr. Lo Io Wa, Secretary-General, and Mr. Pak Kin Pong, Officer of the association. Mr. Lo expressed thanks for GEG’s continued and diversified support, adding that the donation would be used to promote responsible gaming and improve gaming employees’ health and family harmony. Furthermore, he said that the association hopes to keep in close communication and cooperation with GEG to raise awareness of responsible gaming among the public, in addition to providing assistance to gaming employees in need.
In the future, GEG will continue to coordinate with the responsible gaming policies of the Macau SAR Government and take proactive measures to support Macau’s healthy development. GEG will continue to work with various organizations and institutions to deliver an assortment of training programs and workshops on responsible gaming to its team members in order to increase their awareness, prevent gambling disorder and maintain their health and well-being.
